Genel Bakış

Abacus is an enterprise-grade AI assistant designed for organizations that need to keep sensitive data inside their own infrastructure. It pairs an on-premises large language model with a built-in indexer that ingests internal documents, wikis, and data sources to deliver grounded, contextual responses. The platform is aimed at teams operating in regulated or security-conscious environments, where cloud-based assistants are not an option. By running locally, Abacus helps companies surface institutional knowledge quickly while maintaining control over access, audit trails, and compliance requirements.

Compliant Q&A for regulated teams

Legal, finance, and healthcare teams get grounded, contextual answers from internal records while maintaining audit trails and access controls required by their compliance frameworks.

Institutional knowledge retrieval

Governed enterprise AI deployment

Does the job

Pretty happy overall. Compliance-focused architecture just works and fast retrieval and response times. Setup complexity higher than SaaS tools can be annoying, but no dealbreakers — I'd recommend it to a friend without hesitating.

Solid for our team

We rolled this out across the team last quarter and runs fully on-premises for data privacy. Document and data indexer fits neatly into how we already work, and contextual question answering removed a step we used to do by hand. Likely geared toward larger organizations, which is the main caveat, but it has held up under daily use.

Years in this space

I've evaluated a lot of these over the years. What stands out here is enterprise knowledge search — handled better than most — and runs fully on-premises for data privacy. Worth the time if this is your use case.
