Apžvalga

CollabAI is an open-source platform that organizations can host on their own infrastructure to deploy AI assistants tailored to specific teams and workflows. By keeping deployment in-house, it gives businesses control over data, model choices, and how assistants are configured for different roles. Teams can create specialized assistants for tasks like research, writing, customer support, or internal knowledge lookup, and share them across departments. Administrators can manage access, prompts, and integrations, making it suitable for companies that want collaborative AI without relying on a fully managed third-party service.

Does the job

Pretty happy overall. Self-hosted deployment just works and designed for team collaboration. Requires technical setup and maintenance can be annoying, but no dealbreakers — I'd recommend it to a friend without hesitating.

Years in this space

I've evaluated a lot of these over the years. What stands out here is customizable AI assistants — handled better than most — and designed for team collaboration. Infrastructure costs fall on the user is my one real gripe. Worth the time if this is your use case.

Solid for our team

We rolled this out across the team last quarter and self-hosted for data control. Role-based access controls fits neatly into how we already work, and self-hosted deployment removed a step we used to do by hand. but it has held up under daily use.
