Aperçu

Midjourney V1 is the studio's first video generation model, extending its signature painterly, cinematic aesthetic from still images into motion. Users can start from a text prompt or an existing Midjourney image and generate short animated clips that preserve the look, lighting, and composition the platform is known for. The model is aimed at creators who want stylized, mood-driven footage rather than photorealistic simulation. It fits naturally into the existing Midjourney workflow, letting artists iterate on stills first and then bring selected frames to life as moving sequences for concept work, social content, or visual storytelling.

Use it every day

Honestly didn't expect to like it this much. Text-to-video generation is exactly what I needed, and integrates with existing Midjourney image workflow. I do wish requires a paid Midjourney subscription, but I reach for it almost every day now and it just clicks.

Does the job

Pretty happy overall. Midjourney-native art style just works and integrates with existing Midjourney image workflow. but no dealbreakers — I'd recommend it to a friend without hesitating.

Skeptical, then convinced

I went in skeptical — most tools in this space overpromise. It actually delivers on works alongside V6/V7 image models, and distinct cinematic, painterly visual style caught me off guard. Limited fine control over motion and camera is why this isn't a perfect score, still, I'd recommend giving it a real trial.

Years in this space

I've evaluated a lot of these over the years. What stands out here is image-to-video animation — handled better than most — and integrates with existing Midjourney image workflow. Worth the time if this is your use case.
