Aperçu

Duct Tape is an AI image generator focused on producing photorealistic visuals while accurately rendering text within the image itself. It targets use cases where typography matters as much as imagery, such as posters, ads, packaging mockups, social media graphics, and branded scenes. Users describe the scene and specify any on-image text, and the model attempts to integrate words, logos, and labels naturally into the composition. The result aims to reduce the manual post-editing typically required to fix garbled or misshapen letters in AI-generated images.

Does the job

Pretty happy overall. Support for typography-heavy designs just works and reliable in-image text rendering. May struggle with very long text blocks can be annoying, but no dealbreakers — I'd recommend it to a friend without hesitating.

Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: suitable for marketing and product visuals and strong photorealistic output quality. Where it lags: stylized or artistic looks less of a focus. On balance the feature set — especially photorealistic image synthesis — justifies the 5 stars for our use case.

Skeptical, then convinced

I went in skeptical — most tools in this space overpromise. It actually delivers on native-level text rendering in images, and reliable in-image text rendering caught me off guard. Stylized or artistic looks less of a focus is why this isn't a perfect score, still, I'd recommend giving it a real trial.
