Resumen

Maige AI is an open-source platform that lets development teams automate repository tasks using natural language instructions. Instead of writing custom scripts or GitHub Actions, users describe what they want to happen on their codebase and Maige interprets and executes those workflows. It's designed to plug into existing Git-based workflows, handling tasks like issue triage, labeling, code review assistance, and routine repository maintenance. Because it's open source, teams can self-host, audit, and extend it to fit their specific engineering processes. Maige is best suited for engineering teams looking to reduce repetitive repo overhead and experiment with LLM-driven automation without locking into a closed vendor platform.

Does the job

Pretty happy overall. Automated issue triage and labeling just works and natural language interface for repo automation. but no dealbreakers — I'd recommend it to a friend without hesitating.

Use it every day

Honestly didn't expect to like it this much. GitHub repository integration is exactly what I needed, and open source and self-hostable. but I reach for it almost every day now and it just clicks.

Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: gitHub repository integration and integrates with existing Git workflows. Where it lags: limited to repository-centric use cases. On balance the feature set — especially customizable automation rules — justifies the 4 stars for our use case.
