Resumen

Figure develops general-purpose humanoid robots designed to take on physical tasks in commercial and industrial environments. The robots combine bipedal mobility, dexterous manipulation, and onboard AI models that allow them to perceive their surroundings, follow natural language instructions, and learn from demonstration. The company targets sectors facing persistent labor shortages, such as manufacturing, logistics, and warehousing, positioning its humanoids as flexible workers that can be deployed across tasks rather than dedicated to a single function. Figure has partnered with large enterprises to pilot its robots in live operational settings. Ongoing development focuses on improving autonomy, safety, and the underlying foundation models that drive perception and decision-making, with the broader goal of expanding humanoid robotics into wider commercial and eventually household use.

Funciones clave

  • Dexterous two-handed manipulation
  • Onboard AI vision and language models
  • Learning from human demonstration
  • Designed for warehouse and manufacturing tasks
  • Enterprise pilot partnerships

Casos de uso

Warehouse Material Handling

Deploy humanoid robots to move, sort, and stage goods in warehouses, helping operators address labor shortages with flexible workers that can shift between tasks.

Manufacturing Line Support

Integrate robots into manufacturing environments to perform repetitive physical tasks, using dexterous two-handed manipulation and onboard vision to adapt to live production lines.

Task Training via Demonstration

Teach new workflows by having human operators demonstrate tasks, allowing the robot's AI models to learn behaviors without requiring custom programming for each function.

Natural Language Task Assignment

Direct robots using spoken or written instructions, enabling frontline supervisors to assign and adjust work without specialized robotics expertise.

Pros y contras

Solid for our team

We rolled this out across the team last quarter and targets real labor shortage problems. Learning from human demonstration fits neatly into how we already work, and onboard AI vision and language models removed a step we used to do by hand. Not available as an off-the-shelf product, which is the main caveat, but it has held up under daily use.

Does the job

Pretty happy overall. Bipedal humanoid form factor just works and targets real labor shortage problems. but no dealbreakers — I'd recommend it to a friend without hesitating.

Does the job

Pretty happy overall. Bipedal humanoid form factor just works and combines vision, language, and motor control. Enterprise-scale cost and integration can be annoying, but no dealbreakers — I'd recommend it to a friend without hesitating.

Skeptical, then convinced

I went in skeptical — most tools in this space overpromise. It actually delivers on learning from human demonstration, and general-purpose hardware adaptable to many tasks caught me off guard. still, I'd recommend giving it a real trial.

Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: designed for warehouse and manufacturing tasks and general-purpose hardware adaptable to many tasks. On balance the feature set — especially learning from human demonstration — justifies the 5 stars for our use case.
