Преглед

Speechlab's Shaft X Space Dubbing is an AI-powered audio translation tool designed to convert spoken content from X Spaces (formerly Twitter Spaces) and similar audio formats into different languages. It aims to help creators, podcasters, and conversation hosts reach global audiences without needing to record separate language versions. The system handles transcription, translation, and voice synthesis in a single workflow, preserving the original speaker's tone where possible. This makes it useful for live discussions, interviews, and long-form audio content that would otherwise be locked to a single language community. By automating the dubbing pipeline, Shaft reduces the time and cost typically associated with professional localization, letting creators publish multilingual versions of their conversations more quickly.

Solid for our team

We rolled this out across the team last quarter and expands audio content to multilingual audiences. X Space and podcast support fits neatly into how we already work, and automated speech-to-speech translation removed a step we used to do by hand. Limited to audio-focused use cases, which is the main caveat, but it has held up under daily use.

Does the job

Pretty happy overall. Multi-language audio dubbing just works and automates transcription, translation, and dubbing. Limited to audio-focused use cases can be annoying, but no dealbreakers — I'd recommend it to a friend without hesitating.

Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: x Space and podcast support and tailored for X Spaces and conversational audio. On balance the feature set — especially automated speech-to-speech translation — justifies the 5 stars for our use case.

Years in this space

I've evaluated a lot of these over the years. What stands out here is scalable content localization — handled better than most — and faster turnaround than manual localization. Worth the time if this is your use case.
